We will post the actual date nearer the time. Thank you IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING AN ANIMAL OR HAVE ANY ENQUIRIES, PLEASE CALL THE SANCTUARY ON 01909 564399 11AM-3PM. ANY DAY OR EMAIL US at tasadmin@hotmail.co.uk ***NOW OPEN EVERY WEDNESDAY. DON'T FORGET you can contact each department via individual email addressess which are as follows: Kennels: dogsbignsmall@hotmail.com Cattery: catskitsnpups@hotmail.com Stables: silverthorpe@live.co.uk The Staff and Trustees wish all our supporters a very happy, and dare we say, prosperous, New Year! As you know, Thornberry recently joined the Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce. THORNBERRY GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH and the networking possibilities are boundless. We are now part of a very supportive 'family' within which we can promote ourselves, and from which we can enlist help and advice. We are an animal sanctuary and as such do NOT wish, or expect, to become a profit-making concern, but we DO need advice on fundraising, and to make sure that all our policies, including Health & Safety, Employment Law etc are up to scratch, and this is where membership of the Chamber of Commerce is invaluable. We face the prospect of great expense and a fair bit of disruption some time during this year because our long-dreaded sewerage problem cannot be left any longer! Regular visitors will be relieved to hear that the resurfacing of the carpark will be under way as soon as the weather permits. ** WE ARE ALSO DESPERATE FOR CAT FOOD and KITTEN POUCHES. PLEASE SEE THE NEWS PAGE FOR DETAILS!** If you live locally, please do visit Monk's Bridge Farm Pub/Restaurant at Dinnington, not only for a warm welcome and an excellent meal, but also to help Thornberry. This exciting venture is now entering its 3rd year. Cloverleaf Pubs are donating 50p to us for every children's meal served, and they have already donated thousands of pounds to us. In their wonderful, innovative Children's Play Area, there are interactive games featuring our animals. Children and adults can be entertained, whilst eating, by the antics of our animals on a big screen linked to the sanctuary by webcam. This year the pony rides are to be on Saturdays and they begin the first weekend in April. Have you had a clear out? If so, why not sell your unwanted items on eBay to raise money for Thornberry? You can find us on the Charities Page at eBay, or bring the item you wish to sell and we will list it ourselves. If ever you have a new mobile phone, we'd be glad to have your old one to recycle. With FoneAid, we are given £3 for each mobile and also Argos vouchers. ****PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SANCTUARY IS NOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON WEDNESDAYS. ****SO, THORNBERRY IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK!!!! The staff and the Trustees can't thank you enough for getting us this far! With your continued help we can make 2009 another great year for Thornberry! Let's go for it! Thornberry
is open to the public between the hours of 11.00am and 3.00pm, and callers are
always welcome to come and have a look around. We now have lots to see, including
Dogs, Cats, Goats, Pigs, Horses and even some polecats. We now have a café
for visitors to have a little snack and an old barn full of bric-a-brac.The Sanctuary is situated on the B6463 east of the A57 between Todwick and Dinnington...... |
