Thornberry Animal Sanctuary

Firstly, you are always welcome and there is always a lovely friendly atmosphere at the sanctuary. Often hectic, but always needed and wanted.

DO YOU LIKE WALKING DOGS? We are so full of dogs, we could do with more walkers - we want our dogs to be out and walking twice a day? Fancy getting fit and having some doggy cuddles as well?

There are many ways to be involved. Money is always tight - become a Thornberry fund raiser or take on a more involved role by working closely with the animals like cleaning out the pens or stables, walking the dogs - they are always desperate for company. If cats are your favourite, spend a little time in the cattery. If you want to help, but not be too involved with the animals themselves - collecting or selling jumble raises lots of funds. As does picking up the food donations that are left with supermarket for us.

It is amazing how rewarding all these jobs can be, and we are always grateful for all your help.

Have you considered adopting one of our animals - we have all shapes, sizes and characters passing through our doors - once you are working with them, you will soon find a special one. Or chat to the staff and tell them what sort of pet you are looking for, they will let you know if one is suitable or not.

For those of you who cannot take on the responsibility of a pet - we absolutely love people to <a href="sponsor.php">SPONSOR</a> one. Any amount donated each month just lets us be a bit more certain that there will be some coming in. We have resident horses, goats, dogs, cats and rabbits. They are the animals that for one reason or another - cannot leave the solice of the sanctuary.

We are just offering the chance to <a href="sponsor.php">SPONSOR</a> a stable or pen - for a special occasion - Birthday, christening, death of a loved one (animal or human) - you can have your name on a kennel or stable.

For just Ł30.00 you can have a pen with your own name on it, your company name advertised or buy for a presnet for one whole month. For Ł150.00 its yours for a year. Why not advertise your business or company? Then your celebration, advertisement or memory will remain on that stable or kennel for the duration of the term. Hundreds of people each year walk through our gates.

One-off donations are always gratefully received. Safe in the knowledge that ALL donations are spent on the upkeep and care of neglected animals, not just some of it. Please do not forget to fill in a Tax Form if you are a UK Taxpayer, as we can claim the tax back on your gift!

We are DESPERATELY in need of kind foster homes and HOMECHECKERS throughout the country, Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire especially. We will then be able to rehome over a larger area and release some of the burden of our never ending waiting list.

and of course, items to sell in our weekly jumble, such as bric a brac and good clothing.
